Good morning, Ringwood,
The Ringwood team have had a busy few days. You may have noticed a large police presence in the Bickerley last Thursday. Officers spotted a male who needed locating by Wiltshire police and was also driving without a licence. An effort was made to catch up with him, however, the driver didn’t hang around and went into the Bickerley and abandoned his vehicle.
Officers were quick to find the vehicle, and thanks to the community, located the male a short time later. A 49 year old man from Fordingbridge was arrested for his outstanding offence, drink driving and his vehicle seized under section 165. Ravenscroft did a great job recovering the vehicle in a tight spot with no keys available.
Last Friday, the neighbourhood sergeant was out and about in plain clothes. His attention was drawn to a chap who appeared to be intoxicated in Lidl carpark. He was watched getting into and driving away in a vehicle. He was stopped and sure enough, the Sgts observations were correct. He blew 104 at the roadside which is almost 3 times the drink drive limit! A 52 year old male from Ringwood was arrested and taken into custody.
The team also located an outstanding and regular shoplifter who was circulated for a recall to prison for theft. He was found hiding in a cupboard after the tenant assured us, that he wasn’t in the address. Again, the community helped us to locate him so thank you for the assistance.
We also took a bike to the station that was being reported as possibly loss or stolen near Poulner Tesco (see image). If it is yours please come to collect it.
Take care in this heat and we’ll see you out and about this week.
